Knock box chute is an open bottom box fitted into the countertop. Directly place the garbage collection bin or bag right below the opening.

It also has a sturdy knock bar. Bash the portafilter with spent coffee against it and that goes right into the bin beneath. You’ll not have to worry about the coffee knock box getting full or emptying until the end of the day.
